Another appliance we got from Mom & Dad cleaning out their stuff is this old yogurt maker. I don’t remember Mom making it so I’m assuming it was after I moved out.

Kat has been making yogurt now for a couple of months so she was interested in this.  We didn’t have any instructions but thankfully the internet is just the place to find out whatever you need.  Many people have bought similar things at garage sales.  She quickly found out how to use it and put it to work.

This one heats the yogurt in several small glass containers.  Now she can make 3 litres at one time.

Since Kat uses 2% goat’s milk to make her yogurt it is very runny.  We have found an easy way to drip the yogurt.  I bought large commercial size basket style coffee filters.  Put a filter in a stainer and pour in the yogurt.  After an hour or so you have creamy smooth yogurt.

Yummy!
